What are the biggest disadvantages restricting wide application?
The most obvious drawback is extremely high raw material cost, especially nickel and cobalt resources with tight supply chains. Their machining difficulty is far higher than ordinary steel, leading to expensive cutting and forming fees. Some types face poor low-temperature ductility and risk thermal fatigue cracking under frequent cold-hot cycles. These cost and processing barriers limit their use to high-end precision equipment only.
