What is aviation aluminum alloy?
Aviation aluminum alloy is a series of high-performance wrought aluminum materials customized for aerospace load-bearing structures, mainly covering 2xxx Al-Cu, 7xxx Al-Zn-Mg-Cu and partial 6xxx grades. By adding precise proportions of copper, zinc, magnesium and trace zirconium, it obtains ultra-high specific strength, combining lightweight features and strong bearing capacity that regular architectural aluminum cannot match. It maintains stable mechanical properties under high-altitude low temperature, air pressure fluctuation and long-term alternating fatigue load, and is processed into plates, extruded profiles and forgings as the primary lightweight structural material for aircraft and spacecraft.
