Product Details

Scope of supply of Aviation Group:

Non-standard forgings, round rods, steel plates, rings, seamless pipes

1. Introduction to SUS630 Materials

SUS630 alloy is precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel containing copper and niobium. Corresponding grade: 0Cr17Ni4Cu4Nb, 05Cr17Ni4Cu4Nb, S17400

SUS630 is martensite precipitation hardening stainless steel with high strength, high hardness, excellent welding performance and corrosion resistance. It is widely applied in valves, shafts, chemical fiber, aerospace and other industries for high-strength structural parts requiring certain corrosion resistance.

4. SUS630 corrosion resistance

  • SUS630 alloy has better corrosion resistance than any other standard hardenable stainless steel plate. In most cases, its corrosion resistance is no less than 304.
  • If there is a risk of stress corrosion cracking, the aging temperature must be higher than 550°C (1022°F), preferably 590°C (1094°F).
  • The recommended aging temperature under chloride medium is 550°C (1022°F).
  • The recommended aging temperature under H2S medium is 590°C (1094°F).
  • It is prone to crevice corrosion in static seawater.
  • Its corrosion resistance is equivalent to 304L in petrochemical, food processing and paper industries.

5. SUS630 delivery status

Generally supplied under specified heat treatment state, the heat treatment type shall be stated in the contract; if no specification, it will be delivered with heat treatment finished.

SUS630 alloy is precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel featuring high strength, hardness and corrosion resistance. After heat treatment, its mechanical properties are optimized, compressive strength reaches 1100-1300 mpa (160-190 ksi). This grade cannot be used above 300°C (570°F) or under extremely low temperature. It performs well against atmosphere, dilute acid and salt corrosion, with corrosion resistance equivalent to 304 and 430 stainless steel.
