1. Introduction to XM-19 materials

      XM-19 is the first steel for high-wire ferritic stainless steel development. The brittle transition temperature is low, the corrosion resistance is good, the corrosion resistance is comparable to that of pure nickel, and it has good toughness, processing moldability and welding properties.

4. XM-19 corrosion resistance

  • The corrosion resistance is better than 316L and 317L stainless steel, and it can be exposed to offshore atmospheric environments for a long time. In quiet seawater environments, its corrosion resistance is slightly better than that of Monel 400 alloy.
  • Double corrosion resistance of 304
  • In a hot chloride environment, it will be affected by stress corrosion cracking, and its crack resistance is between 304 and 316.
  • Excellent mechanical properties are maintained at high temperatures of 629℃.

  • Seawater environment: seawater desalination device, seawater heat exchanger, condenser tube, etc.
  • High-concentration chloride ion environment: smoke exhaust desulfurization device, pulp and paper industry, various bleaching devices, etc.
  • Environment containing high concentration of salt: resin manufacturing equipment, chemical reaction containers and pipes, etc.
  • Flue gas desulfurization equipment (FGD), crude oil distillation tower and filler for storage tanks and pressure rollers, thermal power plants, steel plants, and petrochemical enterprises,
