Description

1. Introduction to Inconel625 Material
Inconel625 alloy is a solid solution reinforced nickel-based deformation high-temperature alloy with molybdenum and niobium as the main reinforcement elements. It has excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. It has good tensile and fatigue properties from low temperature to 980℃, and is resistant to stress corrosion under salt spray atmosphere. It has excellent corrosion resistance to various corrosive media in the oxidation and reduction environments, and has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, intergranular corrosion and corrosion in chloride media.

4. Features of Inconel625

  • It has excellent corrosion resistance to various corrosive media in the oxidation and reduction environments
  • Excellent resistance to pit and crevice corrosion and does not cause stress corrosion cracking due to chloride
  • Excellent resistance to inorganic acid corrosion, such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and mixed acids of sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, etc.
  • Excellent resistance to corrosion of various inorganic acid mixed solutions
  • When the temperature reaches 40℃, it can show good corrosion resistance in hydrochloric acid solutions of various concentrations.
  • Good processability and welding, no cracking sensitivity after welding
  • Manufacturing certification for pressure vessels with wall temperatures between -196 and 450°C
  • Comply with the highest standard grade VII for acid gas environment use by the American Institute of Corrosion Engineers NACE Standard Certification (MR-01-75)

5. Inconel625 Metallographic structure
Inconel 625 is a face-centered cubic lattice structure. After a sufficiently long incubation at about 650°C, carbon particles and unstable quaternary phase will be precipitated and converted into a stable Ni3 (Nb,Ti) orthogonal lattice phase. After solid solution strengthening, the molybdenum and niobium components in the nickel-chromium matrix will improve the mechanical properties of the material, but the plasticity will be reduced.

6. Inconel625 corrosion resistance
Inconel 625 alloys show excellent corrosion resistance in many media. Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, intergranular corrosion and erosion in chloride media. It has good resistance to corrosion of inorganic acids, such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc., and also has resistance to corrosion of alkali and organic acids in oxidation and reduction environments. Effective anti-chlorine ion reducing stress corrosion cracking. There is almost no corrosion in seawater and industrial gas environments, and it has high corrosion resistance to seawater and salt solutions, and the same is true at high temperatures. No sensitivity during welding. It is resistant to carbonization and oxidation in static or circulating environments and is resistant to corrosion of chlorine-containing gases.

7. Inconel625 Application Field
Inconel625 Application Scope Application Fields:
Low-carbon alloy 625 after softening and annealing is widely used in the chemical process industry, with good corrosion resistance and high strength making it a thinner structural component. 625 alloy can be used in situations where seawater is contacted and subjected to high mechanical stresses. Typical application areas:

  • Components of organic chemical process processes containing chlorides, especially in the use of acid chloride catalysts
  • Cookers and bleaching tanks for the pulp and paper industry
  • Absorption towers, reheaters, flue gas inlet baffles, fans (wet), stirrers, deflectors and flue ducts in flue gas desulfurization system
  • Equipment and components for the manufacture of acid gas environments
  • Acetic acid and acetic anhydride reaction generator
  • Sulfuric acid condensation

In many areas of the civil industry, serviced component materials are in high-temperature corrosive environments. In order to meet market needs, the series Inconel625 is classified according to the use environment of the material.
