    Monel K500 strip, also referred to as\u00a0<\/span>Monel<\/span>\u00a0UNS No5500 Sheet is an age hardened Nickel Copper based alloy. 2.4375\u00a0<\/span>Monel K500<\/span>\u00a0Shim Sheet is an alloy which combines the corrosion resistance properties of Alloy 400 with an increase in its properties, namely – high strength corrosion fatigue and erosion resistance<\/span>. MONEL K500 is a nickel-copper alloy, precipitation hardenable through additions of aluminium and titanium. MONEL K500 has excellent corrosion resistant characteristics. These characteristics are similar to Monel 400.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0When in the age-hardened condition,\u00a0Monel K-500 has a greater tendency toward stress-corrosion cracking in some environments than Monel 400. Alloy K-500 has approximately three times the yield strength and double the tensile strength when compared with alloy 400. Plus, it can be further strengthened by cold working prior to precipitation hardening. The strength of this nickel steel alloy is maintained to 1200<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00b0 F<\/span><\/span>\u00a0but stays ductile and tough down to temperatures of 400<\/span><\/span>\u00b0 F<\/span>. Its melting range is 2400-2460\u00b0 F.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

    This nickel alloy is spark resistant and non-magnetic to -200<\/span><\/span>\u00b0 F<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>However, it is possible to develop a magnetic layer on the surface of the material during processing. Aluminum and copper may be selectively oxidized during heating, leaving a magnetic nickel rich film on the outside. Pickling orbright dipping in acid can remove this magnetic film and restore the non-magnetic properties.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n
